Belief vs. Trust

The Rope Walk That Revealed the Truth

Many a times we say that we believe and a lot of times we claim we trust.
But have we understood the difference between these two?

There is a  story that we all would have heard and pondered about.
The story of a man who walks on rope between two tall towers.
A man once walked on a rope tied between two tall towers. The entire crowd watched with bated breath as he carefully balanced himself using a long stick, his young son sitting calmly on his shoulders. Stepby step he made it across. The crowd erupted in joy - clapped, cheered, took selfies and loads of congratulations followed.

He then turn towards the crowd and asked - do you believe that I can walk back on the same rope?
The crowd cheered louder - “Yes, Yes, You can!!!”

He smiled at them and asked:
“Do you really trust me?”
The crowd responded loudly, “Absolutely, we are even ready to bet on you!”

And then came the true test -
“Would any of you allow your. Child to sit on my shoulders while I walk back?”

The crowd gasped and there was a sudden silence.
No one moved, no one responded.

That’s the moment the crowd moved from belief to reality.

Belief is easy.
We often believe in people, systems and even God.
But what about trust?
That is a different realm.
Trust requires surrender, complete surrender, vulnerability and courage.

It means handing over what is dearest to us, without fear or control.

This story beautifully mirrors our relationship with the Divine.

We say we believe in God. We pray. We sing praises.
But when life throws us stones, storms and puts us in uncertainty - Do we trust God enough to surrender?Do we trust God and give him full control of our life? Do we let HIM carry our burdens without panic?
Do we allow HIM to guide us even when we can’t see the path ahead?

In today’s world, belief is abundant, but trust is rare.

May be it is time to reflect. Are we just clapping from the ground, or are we ready to place what we love most on HIS shoulders?

Reflect, Recalibrate, Reconnect.

True trust starts where belief ends.

LET YOUR FAITH NOT BE JUST A CHEER, BUT A QUIET SURRENDER.
